“Dene Samajache” is a very popular event held in Pune for more than a decade. Artistry Pune selects NGO’s working in various fields & gives them a chance to put forth their work to society. People trust the credibility of the NGO’s which are included in this event and participation in itself shows the trustworthiness of the institution & the people working in it.
The Organizer, Veenatai Gokhale mentioned that she was already considering VSM for this year’s exhibition and some of our alumni too had approached her for same. Their testimony was very important to her which resulted in shortlisting VSM for this year’s event. The event took place in Pune from 20th-22nd Sept.2019 .
From VSM side, lots of efforts went into planning & execution to make our participation in the event effective. Major work involved an attractive display of VSM work related content on the Stall, publicity & promotion, managing finances, managing man power etc. Enthusiastic participation and untiring efforts of Pune volunteers, mentors and students ensured success of the event. All required logistic support was given by VSM Thane Branch. Active participation of MC member Ranjana Kulkarni, from beginning till end, guidance from Mr. Harolikar, presence of Nisha & Sandeep Bhagwat, Arpita Raut & help from Radha Ambekar & Guru in banner designing was very appreciable.
Over the three days around 2000 people visited the exhibition who were explained in details about VSM & its scope of work.
On the day one an inaugural function was held and retired Air Marshal Mr. Bhooshan Gokhale & his wife were the chief guests. Same day all (32) participating organizations gave a short presentation highlighting their work areas. Jayashri Joshi our volunteer from Pune Branch represented Vidyadaan Sahayyak Mandal in this session.
Many people first took an overview of work of all participating NGO’s & then shortlisted few for donations. VSM received donations for total amount of Rs. 2,57,000/- from 58 donors. Mr. Marathe of Cotton King was impressed by VSM work & donated Rs. 1.00.000/-. It was very heart-warming to see a student donating Rs. 500/- for our cause.
To sum up, it was good display of team efforts in planning the details such as new ideas for stall decoration using handmade material, roster management of volunteers for attending to the visitors, having a good blend of new and old volunteers for training purpose, giving proper narrative about VSM, preparing short success stories which depicted VSM’s character very well, ensuring participation of students at every stage , managing donations receipts etc.
The organizer of the event Veena tai Gokhale was happy with VSM’s stall which was also covered in the print media.
VSM made the most of its first ever opportunity in “Dene Samajachae” . The success of this event goes to the great efforts of each & every team member and most importantly the undying spirit of Vidyadaan’s mission to Empower Students with good education !!!
