“ONCE A NURSE….ALWAYS A NURSE” said Ms Prachi Dharap , Principal , Meenatai Thakarey College , Thane. She was speaking at the Nursing Workshop organized by VSM on 24th.June , 2018. She updated the changes in Nursing Council Rules and Regulations. Information was shared about DNM Courses affiliated to DME and also about Super specialty Courses post M.Sc. Ms Dharap reaffirmed that Patient Care is the ultimate goal of a Nurse. She highlighted the importance of Care , Compassion , Competence and Communication.
Ms Swapna Joshi, the Principal and Nursing Superintendent at Tata Memorial Hospital and recipient of the FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE AWARD from the President of India graced the occasion by her speech. She explained how on corporate level Nursing has expanded to various areas like Aviation, Palliative Care, Research, Critical Care, Pediatrics, Trauma, OT, etc.
She also informed about KEVAT, a full-time one-year course for Cancer Patients , by Tata Memorial Hospital. She stressed on hard work and sincerity for career growth.
This was followed by CA Varsha Joshi , who enlightened everyone about Financial Literacy.She explained the basics of savings, income and expenditure, investment avenues, financial stability, budget planning , etc.
The Workshop concluded with a session of BE FRANK specially conducted for Nursing students, with COMMUNICATION as the theme.
