This year, the World Social Work Day is taking place on 15th March. The day recognizes the hard work and diligence of social workers throughout the world. We, at VSM, would like to celebrate it by organizing a STEP (Social work Theory to Effective Practice) Conference on 27th March 2022 bringing together 400-500 audiences comprising of social work students and social work professionals from all over Maharashtra.
Our goal is to bring together bright minds to share ideas focused to foster learning, and to provoke conversations that matter. Moreover, the Conference aspires to get an insight from various eminent speakers and panelists on the divide between social work knowledge and practice, the ways to narrow this divide and how to enhance the capabilities of Social Work students. The full day (10am-4pm) virtual event is being curetted by the Social Work team of VSM.
About VSM and Social Work team, currently, VSM is proudly supporting 400+ students coming from the weaker sections of the society studying in different disciplines such as engineering, medical, nursing, commerce, arts, social work (SW) etc. All VSM volunteers are professional in their own fields. Our SW team led by Dr. Veena Joshi comprises of SW experts from premium institutes like, TISS and Nirmala Niketan; Editors of International Journals and consultants in SW team. The number of social work students in VSM grew from 3 to 30 in the last four years (2017 – 2021)
