The 1st Alumni Meet for the Year 2019-2020 was held on 29th September 2019 in Thane. A total of 22 alumni students participated in this event. The event was special since some of the Final Year students also participated. This event was compered by Madhuri Bondre and Vrushali Kokate.
The event commenced with a round of Introductions. Each alumni student introduced themselves and shared their thoughts of how they will be able to contribute their efforts for VSM. Apart from Donations, the students also wanted to get involved in various committees like Admission Committee.
Next topic was on Financial Literacy / Awareness. After Graduation once you get a job, it is very essential how you manage your essential financial needs and future plan. Shri Anil Harolikar explained the various Insurance, Provident Fund, Medical schemes which students should invest in the beginning of their career. This was followed by an interactive Question/Answer session.
There was a small game played for the alumni students which made the session lively.
During the month of August (between 2nd to 4th August 2019), five VSM alumni students visited Vidhyarthi Sahayyak Samiti (VSS) Warora. One of them viz. Tushar Khaire shared his experience and explained about the activities of VSS and how the Alumni students of VSS are playing an important role in the growth of this organization. There was a lively interaction within the students of how alumni can play a major role for VSM.
This was followed by an interactive session on Donation and Volunteering between Students and Volunteer. Here our Trustee, Ms. Geeta Shah also shared her thoughts on the “Joy of Giving”. She explained that in an organization like VSM, apart from Books and Volunteers, the need of the day for students is android based mobile phones. These have become essential tools for learning / communication and knowledge sharing. This year VSM has decided to contribute for 25 such mobile phones. Students took the initiative in contributing their own way.
